Some friends asked me to make a quilt for them. We decided on pattern and picked fabric a couple weeks ago. So after feeling frustrated with the Farmer's Wife Blocks last week I decided it was time to work on something a whole lot faster to put together. So I got to starching, pressing, and cutting the fabric for the
Bento Box Quilt by Tracy Brookshier. My friends chose lots of different colours and one dark dark blue batik as the contrast colour for all the blocks. It is so nice to be strip piecing and using large pieces. Here are the first 3 colours that I worked with.
I am so pleased with how well the green/blue stripe worked out. It is a Kaffe Fassett shot cotton and with plenty of starch it was wonderful to sew with. It is so nice to have the stripes lining up and not going crazy angles.
